New Ford Capri Type 5 4 speed gearbox reverse idler gear.

This gear is often damaged where it comes into contact with the 1st/Reverse gear hub and laygear.

This is normally caused by a failing to clear the clutch when selecting reverse gear.

A very worn reverse idler will cause your gearbox to jump out of reverse gear when backing up.
